So yesterday Tom finished designing the main page of the website and it properly went online. It looks great in my opinion, very dramatic. The text for example, looks like a thriller movie title. And the imagery of bombs dropping of course is also quite sinister but fun.
This is the top of the page, instead of creating multiple pages Tom has coded the website so that all of the content fits onto one page for now. This means that when you hit one of the tabs there is no loading time before the content is viewable. The top page also clearly states the date of the 'event' that is tweet a truth. On this date we hope people will start tweeting truths on-mass.
This is a close up of the tabs. The About tab takes the users to the about section titled 'What Are We Doing?' and the Get Involved tab takes the users to the bottom of the page for information headed with the same name. The tweets tab is selected in this image with a nice underline arrow so the user can see the interaction. The tweets section of the website is currently unavailable and will go live on Friday with the beginning of the tweetatruth event.
Also at the top of the page are the standard icons for linking to Facebook and Twitter. We could add tumblr and other networking sites later. Perhaps with a + sign next to these which will fold out a drop-down menu when clicked.
This is what the viewers will see if they scroll down the page or if they click on the About tab at the top. It is a short description of our aims and why we want to achieve them. The text sits in a cloud that the bombs are dropping through which gives a nice interaction with them as they fall.
The last section of the page sits at the very bottom and is all about the user getting involved in the project. It outlines in three simple steps how to get involved.
This part of the page also contains a countdown timer. The project is set to launch at midnight GMT.
Lets hope we don't get confused for a religious cult...
